The Narada Bhakti Sutra 27

ईश्वरस्याप्यभिमानद्वेषित्वात् दैन्यप्रियत्वाच्च॥ २७॥

"God loves humility and detests pride."

This Sutra emphasizes the importance of humility in the path of Devotion. It suggests that God, or the Supreme Being, is drawn to the quality of humility and is repelled by arrogance or pride. This is a common theme in many spiritual traditions, where humility is seen as a virtue that opens the heart to Divine Grace, while pride is viewed as a barrier that separates the individual from the Divine. The Sutra implies that a devotee should cultivate a sense of humility, recognizing the greatness of the divine and one's own limitations.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
